ABOUT VVWA

The Vasant Vihar Welfare Association (VVWA) is a duly elected body of resident members; men and women from diverse backgrounds with a common goal, to serve the community. Since the constitution of VVWA, 50 years ago, rapid urban development, transforming technologies and need for infrastructure modernisation has drastically changed the volume and nature of service delivery. The VVWA’s vision is to reflect current realities and develop Vasant Vihar as a smart community. This means going beyond just liaising with authorities to hold all stakeholders accountable for giving Vasant Vihar residents the quality of life, reflective of the category A status the community has been given.

As brought out above, there is an urgent necessity for VVWA to adopt a corporate style of functioning. While welfare should and will remain a core activity, a management ethos has been incorporated.

The VVWA Management Committee operates at two levels:

Five office bearers led by the President to provide policy direction, strategic and financial planning, administration, operation and public affairs, and twelve ‘Block Representatives’ (two per block)  to execute and implement VVWA programmes and provide updates or feedback on the general welfare of residents.

Gurpreet Bindra

After completing my engineering education, I executed large infrastructure projects, such as thermal power stations, steel plants etc. A professional project manager, I now advise clients on project management and their concrete problems.

In my spare time, I enjoy solving Sudoku puzzles and am comfortable up until the hard ones. My major passion is listening to classical gurbani and classical Indian music. In whatever spare time I manage, I am now working on writing my book based on the Indo-Pakistan War of 1971.

Keshhav k. garg

Vice President

I like to do at least one good thing a day for humanity. My passion for life enables me to work at a macro level. I engage both everyday people and authorities towards the larger goal of  improving our surroundings in terms of living in a better place with improved conditions & environment.

I spend most of my time researching native plants in order to make people aware of the simplest yet holistic management of their health and well being. A professional acumen towards troubleshooting permits me to trade and make a reasonable living for myself and my loved ones.
