F BLOCK

“FAMOUS FOR ITS PROXIMITY TO PRIYA MARKET AND THE GURDWARA SAHIB”

By: Dr. Tanvir Singh, Resident F-4/4

We moved to the block when I was just 2 years old in 1976.

If you were to ask me about it’s uniqueness, well my grandfather chose the block for its proximity to the gurdwara and our memories are filled with that 2 minute walk across the street to the iconic Priya cinema complex and Nirula’s for dinner and hot chocolate fudge.

I have lived my childhood playing in the F block parks, particularly Central Park which we would convert into a hockey field, cricket pitch and also have a tennis net for racquet games.

At a time without builder floors, each house had its own identity and we knew each of our neighbours. The bonds grew over sports we played and the movies we watched at each other’s homes.

No one knows the value of the F block, more than I do. Due to unavoidable circumstances we sold our home and moved elsewhere and when I had the opportunity without a blink of an eye moved back to set up my home and practice in F Block.

Roopshri Bhasin

Known as Roopa to friends and family, I am a paramedic by profession who chose to spend most of my time on the upbringing of my children. I love walking and watching movies. I am very fond of plants and spend quite some time tending to my garden. Over the last 15 years, I have tried to give something back to the society by being actively involved in residents’ welfare activities – it was fulfilling but very demanding! I have known Vasant Vihar since 1996 due to the location of my kids’ school but moved here a couple of years ago.

Dr. Gunita Singh

I am a practicing Cosmetic and Laser Dental Surgeon and specialise in Smile design and more importantly the most painless dental surgery interventions. As director of DENTEM, I oversee 7 clinics across Delhi, am a Senior Consultant at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital and also run an academy to train aspiring dentists. Personally, I am a fun loving person who likes to sing, dance, travel and give back to society. The only catch is, my kids hope I never enter the kitchen to cook.
